Design Thinking for Film and Editorial
How do you approach design for film and editorial projects?
My approach begins with narrative. Rather than treating a space as a finished interior, I consider how it will be read on camera – through light, movement, framing, and atmosphere.
I work with tone, proportion, material, and restraint to support the emotional intent of a scene or editorial story, ensuring the environment enhances rather than distracts from the narrative.
How does interior design support narrative and storytelling?
Space plays a powerful role in how a story is felt. Interiors can suggest intimacy, tension, calm, or unease through subtle cues – light quality, texture, scale, and spatial rhythm.
By designing with atmosphere in mind, environments become active participants in storytelling, shaping mood and reinforcing meaning without overt visual gestures.
Do you work with production designers, directors, and creative teams?
Yes. I work closely with production designers, directors, stylists, and creative teams to develop spaces that support the wider visual and narrative vision.
My role is often to refine atmosphere, material language, and spatial coherence – supporting creative direction while remaining responsive to practical production needs.
Reverie Interior Design creates quietly luxurious interiors shaped by atmosphere, proportion, and emotional intelligence. From private homes to hospitality, film, and editorial spaces, our work blends heritage architecture with contemporary European restraint.
