The Concept Studio

Imagined Worlds & Creative Direction

Where imagination meets design — a space for interiors not yet built, but deeply felt.

At Reverie, not every project begins with walls or a floor plan. Some begin with an instinct, a fragment of atmosphere, a sensory memory, or an emotional longing. The Concept Studio is where those ideas take shape — a curated collection of speculative interiors, boutique hospitality concepts, cinematic studies, and narrative-led visual worlds.

Here, design is less about what is placed in a room, and more about the emotional world it evokes.
It becomes a sensory architecture — a way of exploring light, proportion, texture, and the quiet rituals that define how a space should feel.

Each imagined room or environment is conceived as a story:
from boutique hotels and creative retreats to residential sanctuaries and character-driven film sets.

This is the artistic heart of Reverie – where heritage meets modernity, where atmosphere leads, and where interiors are shaped not only to be seen, but to be experienced.

Where design becomes a story quietly told through feeling and form.

“Conceptual work allows ideas to be explored with care — before they are built.”

Feature Concept: The Reverie Hotel

The Reverie Hotel

A Concept Study in Quiet Luxury & Contemporary European Calm

The Reverie Hotel is an imagined boutique hospitality concept exploring atmosphere, neuroaesthetics, and the emotional potential of interior design. Guided by British architectural heritage and a contemporary European sensibility, it considers how light, texture, proportion, and materiality shape the guest experience – moment by moment, mood by mood.

What follows is a curated glimpse into this world: a selection of visuals from a broader hospitality concept currently in development, designed to inspire future hotel collaborations, retreats, and editorial environments.

The Nocturne Bar

An ode to shadow, patina, and late-evening warmth.

Burnished brass, aubergine plaster, and candlelit depth create a cinematic after-dark atmosphere.
This is the hotel’s nocturnal soul — intimate, sensual, and rhythmically lit.

The Salon

A study in light, plaster, and modern British-European ease.

Soft daylight moves across plaster walls and linen upholstery, creating a room that feels calm, refined, and quietly luxurious. At dusk, the palette warms — oak, stone, candlelight and shadow deepening the space into something intimate and atmospheric.

The Restaurant

Botanical calm and contemporary clarity.

A space shaped by soft curves, natural textures, and a muted palette of sage, plaster, and oak.
The restaurant is imagined as a place for slow meals, conversation, and a sense of grounded ease.

The Courtyard

An urban sanctuary shaped by stone, greenery, and quiet morning light.

Inspired by Georgian proportions and European simplicity, the courtyard offers a moment of stillness — a calm transition between interior and exterior worlds.

Concept Explorations

Boutique Hospitality & Editorial Design

Where narrative, atmosphere, and design storytelling converge.

Beyond private residences, Reverie explores imagined spaces that celebrate mood, storytelling, and emotion — from boutique hotels and cafés to editorial settings and cinematic interiors. Each concept is designed to evoke a distinct sense of place: the hush of a heritage suite, the intimacy of a hidden bar, the texture of a well-worn café table.

These visual studies illuminate how design can communicate more than style — they express experience, character, and the quiet theatre of daily life.

London Apartment for a Rockstar

A Creative Life After Dark.

A moody, immersive concept for a musician’s West London hideaway – where burnished bronze tones, vintage lighting, and richly layered materials set the scene for slow living, deep thought, and quiet indulgence. Inspired by Studio KO’s minimalist sensuality and the hedonistic elegance of 1970s Milanese interiors, this space favours bold restraint over excess. Velvet, leather, and dark timber combine with sculptural pieces to frame late-night writing sessions and record-filled evenings. A home that doesn’t shout – but seduces, slowly.

Featured Spaces

The Bar
An intimate study in patina and proportion. Brushed metal, burnished copper velvet, and golden glass form a quiet stage for after-hours conversation and timeless indulgence.

The Salon
A cinematic retreat of burnished light and texture. Amber velvet, deep graphite walls, and mid-century silhouettes create a cocoon for creative solitude and late-night conversations.

Evening Rituals
A sanctuary of reflection – bronze walls, stone surfaces, and soft candlelight define a space designed for restoration and ritual.

The Bedroom
A shadowed sanctuary in mohair, linen, and warm light – designed for slow mornings and creative nights.

Visual Direction

The palette moves through a symphony of bronze, smoke, and velvet — an atmosphere that balances sensual minimalism with emotional depth. Every reflection, shadow, and material surface has intention; a dialogue between creativity and calm.

Luxury Café – Paris / Bath

A daylight brasserie where classical architecture meets Parisian poise.

Soft gold detailing meets classical panelling and sculptural seating, creating a refined balance between British architecture and European poise.
The palette of ivory, stone, and blush evokes calm sophistication, while considered lighting and material texture lend depth and intimacy to every corner.

The Georgian Café – Bath

Where Georgian light meets quiet modern luxury

Set within a Georgian townhouse in Bath, The Georgian Café reimagines contemporary hospitality through the lens of heritage architecture and understated elegance. Natural daylight filters through tall sash windows, illuminating marble counters, sculptural banquettes, and warm oak floors. Every detail balances British restraint with Parisian ease — refined yet inviting, timeless yet modern.

The Heritage Café – European Grandeur Reimagined

A Café Inspired by Wes Anderson

A study in colour, character, and nostalgia.

Playful yet composed, this concept takes inspiration from Wes Anderson’s cinematic world – symmetrical detailing, whimsical palettes, and a sense of curated nostalgia. Mint and blush tones meet marble, brass, and herringbone floors, blending classic European architecture with a stylised modern edge.
It celebrates storytelling through design – where every hue and proportion has purpose, and each detail feels part of a larger, poetic composition.

Artful charm, modern whimsy, cinematic precision.

The Velvet Salon

A boutique salon concept exploring sculptural calm, sensory atmosphere, and refined materiality.

Designed as a sanctuary rather than a traditional salon, The Velvet Salon reimagines the grooming experience through the lens of quiet luxury and architectural softness.

Softly curved mirrors, diffused perimeter lighting, and continuous plastered surfaces create a sense of stillness. Warm stone tones are paired with tactile upholstery and handcrafted timber, offering a restorative environment where light, texture, and proportion work in harmony.

This concept brings together the worlds of boutique hospitality and elevated commercial design — a meditative, slow-paced space where every detail contributes to an experience of calm, comfort, and contemporary elegance.

Design Thinking Behind the Concept Studio

What is the purpose of concept-led design?

Concept-led design allows space to be explored before it is resolved. It creates room for ideas, atmosphere, and narrative to emerge without the immediate constraints of construction or specification.Within the Concept Studio, this process is used to test mood, proportion, material relationships, and emotional tone – often shaping the direction of future interiors, hospitality environments, or creative collaborations.

How do imagined interiors influence real projects?

Imagined interiors act as a research and development space for real design work. They allow ideas to be refined visually and emotionally before they are applied to a specific site. Many Concept Studio projects go on to inform full interior design schemes, guiding layout decisions, material palettes, lighting approaches, and the overall atmosphere of a space once it enters a live commission.

Why explore atmosphere before form?

Atmosphere defines how a space is experienced – how it holds you, calms you, or energises you. By understanding atmosphere first, form becomes a response rather than a starting point. This approach ensures that design decisions are led by feeling, proportion, and sensory balance, resulting in spaces that feel considered, coherent, and deeply inhabitable rather than purely visual.

The Concept Studio is a space for exploration – and a foundation for real, considered design.
