More than a conversation
A Touch of Reverie is a focused, expert consultation followed by a considered written response – not just advice given in the moment, but a clear direction you can act on.
Clients leave with renewed confidence, a clear sense of priority, and a practical foundation for moving forward – whether that’s a single room reimagined, a fuller engagement with Reverie, or simply the knowledge of what to do next.
What you receive
Before we meet
You complete a short questionnaire about your space – how you live in it, what is and isn’t working, and how you want it to feel. You send photographs and any plans you have. By the time we sit down together, I already understand the question.
The consultation – 60 minutes
In person, if you are in Bath or the surrounding area. Via Zoom if you are further afield. For projects beyond, travel may be arranged, with costs agreed in advance. A focused hour of expert conversation about your space – atmosphere, spatial possibilities, what to prioritise, what to avoid, and the decisions that will make the biggest difference.
Your follow-up – within five working days
A written summary
A clear record of the key priorities, ideas and recommendations discussed during the consultation, so you have a confident direction to return to.
Visual references
Four to six carefully chosen images to help anchor the atmosphere, palette and overall feeling of the space.
A considered recommendations list
Five to eight practical suggestions – from pieces and materials to suppliers or simple changes — to help you take the next step.
Who this is for
You might be…
Moving into a new home and wanting to get the important decisions right from the start.
Living with a room that has never quite worked, and ready for a professional perspective on why.
Renovating and unsure where to invest your budget for maximum impact.
Considering a larger design project and wanting to test the relationship first.
Looking for an expert opinion – honest, specific, and grounded in how your space should feel.
A note on scope
A Touch of Reverie is an expert consultation with a considered follow-up. It is not a full design scheme, a set of floor plans, or a complete mood board – those belong to a larger commission.
What it gives you is clarity, direction, and a confident starting point.
For many clients, this is all they need. For others, it becomes the natural first step into a deeper engagement – the Reverie Reserve or a full interior design commission. There is no pressure to continue, but where a full design commission follows, the consultation fee is credited against the project total.
About Kate
Kate Kitchen is the founder and creative director of Reverie Interior Design. Her work is atmosphere-led – grounded in neuroaesthetics and the psychology of how spaces affect the way we feel. With a European sensibility and a track record from Bath to London to the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas, she brings a depth of thinking that goes well beyond surface styling.
Based in Bath, working across the UK and internationally.
“Kate was a terrific partner throughout – listening carefully to our brief and responding with real creativity and thoughtfulness. We would recommend her without hesitation and fully intend to work with her again.“

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the consultation take place online?
Yes. Consultations can be held in person throughout Bath and the surrounding area, or via Zoom for clients further afield. Many clients find a virtual consultation just as valuable, particularly when supported by photographs, plans, and a detailed brief.
Do I need architectural plans or drawings?
Not at all. Photographs and a simple floor plan, if available, are helpful, but many clients come to me at the very beginning of a project before detailed plans exist.
Can we discuss more than one room?
Yes. The consultation can cover multiple spaces, provided they are connected by a common challenge or objective. Together, we will focus on the areas where expert guidance will have the greatest impact.
What happens after the consultation?
Within five working days, you will receive a written follow-up summary including key recommendations, visual references, and a considered list of five to eight suggestions – such as pieces, materials, suppliers or changes – to help you move the room forward with confidence.
What if I need more support?
Many clients find the consultation provides all the clarity they need. For those seeking more detailed guidance, the consultation can be the natural first step toward deeper engagement, whether through The Reverie Reserve or a full interior design commission.
Is the consultation suitable if I am not ready to start decorating immediately?
Absolutely. Many clients book a consultation while planning a renovation, preparing to move home, or gathering ideas for a future project. The aim is to provide clarity and direction, wherever you are in the process.
Ready to begin?
Book a time that works for you. Once confirmed, you will receive the pre-consultation questionnaire and everything you need to prepare.
